Long-Form Season Three

Suggested reading & ruminations exploring how we can cultivate belonging and enrichment within our community.

With my January 2025 Boundary Waters Connect newsletter I planted a seed, which I have since watered. In my February 2025 newsletter I invited readers to join me as I embark upon the (asynchronous) third season of Long-Form. Through a series of blog posts throughout the year, I will present a selection of reading recommendations, along with some of my own ruminations on the selected texts, and why I consider them relevant to my broader project to positively impact our community and our economy.

My goals in presenting a third season of the Long-Form program in this new format are as follows:

Encourage more reading. Specifically, I hope readers will engage with “long-form” content, which is to say content beyond headlines, beyond social media. Lest you not know where to start or what to read, allow me to make recommendations.

Help readers to learn about themselves and about each other, through the process of cross referencing each other’s diverse reactions to the same material. I imagine this will also lead to an expansion of our perspectives on economics, community, and more.

Prime our community to more fully embrace our shared responsibility to each other and to our economy. There is much thinking to be done in anticipation of strategy development, let alone collective action.
